What is a prepaid giveaway?

A Star Giveaway is Telegram's way for a channel or group to give Stars to its members as prizes. "Prepaid" means the Stars are paid for in advance: we deliver the giveaway to your channel or group, and an admin launches it from Telegram when you're ready. Telegram runs it, picks the winners at random and sends them their Stars.

What you need

• A public channel or group, with a @username or a t.me link.
• Someone who can launch it: you, or another admin of that channel or group.

How to buy

1. Open @oyastarsbot and tap Star Giveaways for Channels/Groups.
2. Send the public @username or t.me link of your channel or group. The bot checks it with Telegram and shows you its name.
3. Choose the Stars in total, then the number of winners. The bot shows how many Stars each winner gets.
4. Check the order summary and tap Pay, then approve the M-Pesa prompt on your phone with your PIN.
5. When the giveaway is ready, the bot tells you, with the steps to launch it.

How to launch it

An admin starts the giveaway in Telegram:

• Channel: open the channel's profile, tap the three dots, then Statistics › Boosts › Prepaid Giveaway. Set the giveaway up and tap Start Giveaway.
• Group: open Group Info › Statistics › Boosts, then the same steps.

Telegram handles everything from there, including who can take part and when it ends, as you set it up.

Delivery and refunds

• If we can't deliver a giveaway you paid for, we refund the amount you paid to the M-Pesa number that paid.
• Once delivered, a giveaway can't be reversed or moved to another channel or group, so check the name the bot shows before you pay.
• Launching the giveaway, its settings and the choice of winners are handled by Telegram.
